Privacy policy
This page explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who is responsible for your data
Petra Home Furniture Trading CO LLC, registered in Dubai, with its showroom and factory in Umm Ramool, Rashidiya, is the controller of the personal data described here. Petra Home is the retail studio of Petra Wooden Industries.
You can reach us on WhatsApp, by phone, or through the contact page for anything in this policy, including a request about your own data.

What we collect
We collect three separate things, and they are kept apart from one another.
In detail:
- When you send an inquiry: your name and phone number, the email address and message you choose to add, which page you sent it from, the language you were reading in, any campaign parameters in the link you arrived through, and the time you sent it.
- When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, the language you were reading in, where on the site you subscribed, and the time you subscribed.
- As you browse: which product pages are viewed, taps on WhatsApp and phone links, and inquiries sent — each recorded with the page path, the product, the language, a randomly generated session identifier, any campaign parameters, and the time.
The third group is not linked to your name, phone number or email. We do not take payment on this website, so no card or bank details are collected here.

Why we collect it, and on what basis
UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data allows processing where it is necessary to take steps you have asked for, where you have consented, or where we have a legitimate interest that does not override your rights. Each of the three groups above sits on one of those.
Specifically:
- Inquiry details are processed so we can answer you and prepare a quotation — steps taken at your own request.
- Newsletter details are processed with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Usage records are processed on our legitimate interest in knowing which pieces people look at, so we can stock and photograph the catalogue better.
- Form submissions are rate-limited on our legitimate interest in keeping the site free of spam and abuse.

IP addresses
Your IP address is visible to our server and to Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site and protects it.
We use it briefly and in memory only, to limit how many times a form can be submitted from one address in a short window. It is not written to our database, not stored against your inquiry, and not used to identify you.

Data held outside the UAE
The servers and services above may hold data outside the United Arab Emirates. Where that happens we rely on providers that offer an appropriate level of protection and contractual safeguards, as the Personal Data Protection Law requires.

How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for.
In practice:
- Inquiries are kept while we are dealing with you and afterwards as a customer record, including for as long as accounting and tax rules require. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Usage records are kept in a lightweight form and reviewed periodically, and are pruned when they no longer tell us anything useful.
- The two cookies expire on their own after 30 and 180 days, and you can clear them from your browser at any time.

Your rights
The Personal Data Protection Law gives you rights over the data we hold about you.
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold and give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it
- Stop or restrict a particular use of it
- Provide it in a portable form so you can take it elsewhere
- Stop sending you the newsletter — the fastest route is the unsubscribe link, but asking us works too
Ask on WhatsApp, by phone or through the contact page. We will respond within one month, and we will not charge you for it.

Children
This site is meant for adults furnishing a home or an office. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

How we protect it
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. The admin area where inquiries are read sits behind access control and is limited to the people at Petra Home who need it, and inquiry records cannot be edited once created.
No system is perfect. If something ever goes wrong with personal data we hold, we will tell the people affected and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes to this policy
We update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed, and the version published at any moment is the one that applies.
